2016 CQ Jam for WaterStep

Captain’s Quarters Riverside Grille, located on the waterfront at 5700 Captain’s Quarters Road in Prospect, will host the 4th Annual CQ Jam for WaterStep on Saturday, September 10 from 4pm to 9pm. The fundraiser benefits WaterStep, the Louisville-based organization that works to save lives around the world with safe water, and will feature performances by Lonza Bartlett of the Legacy Platters and Motown artist AJ Mullins. 3rd Annual bourbon mixer

On Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 6:30pm two of Louisville’s most spirited social groups, the Whisky Chicks and the Bourbon Brotherhood, will come together at the Gillespie, located at 421 W. Market Street, to host the 3rd Annual Bourbon Mixer, a fundraiser to benefit the Coalition for the Homeless. The evening will combine great Bourbon with upscale southern cuisine in a spirited atmosphere that will cater to both aficionados and novices. Each participating distillery will be sharing their passion for Kentucky’s native spirit along with samples chosen just for this evening. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of auction items, including one-of-a-kind Bourbon experiences and rare bottles of whisky. AMVETS Patriot Car, Bike, and Truck Show

This is our 9th Annual Car, Truck and Bike show! Bring out your vehicle and join in the fun. Early entry is $15 day of show is $20. Early entry will be entered into a special drawing during the event. There will also be door prizes for all entries. Along with goodie bags and Trophies to the top 3 in each division along with an overall winner. There will be a special guest giving out the awards to be announced at a later date. Judging starts at 12pm and Trophies will be given out at 5pm. The Boogie Shoes band will take the stage in the back hall at 6pm. So stick around for more fun. Food and games will be throughout the day and we do have vendor booths that we will be renting out for $25 which include tables if you need them.

ARCA Racing Series Crosley 150

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will make its 23rd appearance at Kentucky Speedway since the Inaugural year in 2000. See the drivers’ race to victory lane with a shot to win the praised Crosley Brands Jukebox. Be there to witness a name added to the list of ARCA winners at Kentucky including Ryan Newman, Frank Kimmel, Kyle Busch, and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.

Adult tickets start at just $29. Children 12 and under start at $15.

 

Back Porch Sessions at RYE

RYE's annual Back Porch Sessions celebrates it’s 5th year with another incredible summer of music, food, and libations! Thursday, May 19, kicks the summer off with a staggering lineup of Louisville talent that includes a rare Louisville performance from Adam & Sarah of Murder By Death (WATCH) along with Louisville’s everyman Justin Paul Lewis (WATCH) and the incredible indie enigma Cereal Glyphs (WATCH). Future Back Porch Sessions include Graffiti on June 16, Brenda on July 21, Quiet Hollers on August 18, and a very special headliner coming to Louisville for the finale on Saturday, September 24 in conjunction with NuLu Fest. Bluegrass on the Square welcomes Hog Operation and The Boxcars. Enjoy unique bluegrass music with Hog Operation and The Boxcars  as the downtown square of Historic Corydon comes alive with the sounds of Bluegrass this summer! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Boots & BBQ Bash

Third Annual Boots & BBQ Bash, a fundraiser benefiting the Kosair Charities Children’s Peace Center at Our Lady of Peace, part of KentuckyOne Health, with support from the Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s Foundation.

The evening will include silent and live auctions, dinner, and live music from Nervous Melvin and The Mistakes. Tickets cost $100 per person.

Proceeds from the event will go toward kid-friendly amenities at Our Lady of Peace. The Kosair Charities Children’s Peace Center at Our Lady of Peace helps more than 1,500 kids each year.

The state fair is known as the largest indoor fair in the nation and home to over 600,000 guests during the 11-day period. Chris Young, Brett Eldredge and Chris Lane plan to rock the stage as our first main stage concert. This reasonably priced show is welcome to family and friends of all ages looking to have a good time

Cinema Saturday: The Book of Eli (2010)

On the second Saturday of each month during the summer, we screen a movie from our collection. All movies are audio-described for the blind and feature an important character who is blind or visually-impaired.

In post-apocalyptic America, a lone man (Denzel Washington) fights his way across the country in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind. Also stars Gary Oldman and Mila Kunis. Rated R.

Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type - The Musical

StageOne brings Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type - The Musical to the Kentucky Center in September! It's the perfect show for the whole family! The Cows, the Hen, and the Duck want better accommodations. The cows and the hen are freezing their respective hides and feathers off in the barn. Duck is bored with the lily pad and wants to spice up his pond. The animals have a barrier in communicating with Farmer Brown but with the help of an old type writer they set off to get what they want! This amazing musical, based on the classic book by Doreen Cronin teaches an important lesson in working together to resolve a conflict.  For ages 4 and up.  Performance dates are Sept. 10, 17, 24 at 2pm.
