Forecastle Festival: July 9th-11th Waterfront Park
The Forecastle Festival lineup to the 9th annual festival, as well as a move to Louisville's 74-acre Waterfront Park, located downtown on the Ohio River.
The 9th annual Forecastle Festival will take place July 9th – 11th in multiple phases of Waterfront Park – just a few minutes walk from last year's location at The Riverfront Belvedere – and feature experimental rock pioneers The Flaming Lips and perennial jam band favorites Widespread Panic, along with Spoon, The Drive-By Truckers, Bassnectar, Minus the Bear, The New Deal, Lucero, a reunion by Cap 'n Jazz, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Sara Watkins (of Nickel Creek), Dar Williams, EOTO, Break Science, Mimosa, Mucca Pazza, Company of Thieves, Savoy, BoomBox, Two Fresh and Morning Teleportation.
Over sixty more performers will be announced in the upcoming weeks, including additional headliners.
Ballroom Renovation:
A $2 million dollar renovation of the Archibald Cochran Ballroom has just been completed and opened January 22, 2010. Our hotel continues to secure its reputation as the best meeting and convention hotel in the region with the completion of the renovation of the 16,200 sq. ft. ballroom. Located in the hotel's RIVUE Tower, the ballroom overlooks the city's Belvedere Festival Plaza and is a vital piece of the hotel's meeting space inventory for conventions.
Galt House Hotel's KaLightoscope Christmas 2010:
A Holiday Event Never Before Seen In The U.S.
With KaLightoscope Christmas, the Galt House makes Louisville a Christmas destination. New KFC Yum! Center:
The opening of the New KFC Yum! Center is set for fall of 2010. The new multi-purpose 22,000 seat arena located downtown, adjacent to the Galt House will be home to the University of Louisville Men's and Women's Basketball programs. The KFC Yum! Center is scheduled to open in November 2010. It is designed to accommodate a wide variety of other events.
