It's the Derby Party you won't want to miss!

Saturday, May 5, 2012, Benefiting the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund Inc.

It's the party that's grabbing the spotlight from the media. The Voice Tribune, Courier Journal, WAVE 3, WHAS 11, WDRB, and more outlets have featured the Night of... One Race, One Winner, One Party, and it's easy to see why. In its second year, the party has a lofty goal to raise $100,000 for the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. On top of that, partiers will dance the night away to the sounds of a phenomenal band, Party on the Moon, that's played the likes of Donald Trump's New Year's Parties and President Obama's Inauguration. Not to mention the food offerings. Guest will be greeted with a pleasing array of passed hors d' oeuvres and limitless top-shelf libations. It's all followed up with a gourmet dinner featuring Kentucky Proud products.

The Night of... Party honors and supports jockeys, and the jockeys are the celebrities at this event. Last year, the Kentucky Derby-winning jockey John Velazquez, trainer Graham Motion, and owner Team Valor International all attended the event, along with more than 40 jockeys. This year, Velazquez is expected to return, along with Hall of Fame jockeys Pat Day, Jean Cruguet who is celebrating the 35th anniversary of Seattle Slew's Triple Crown win, and Ron Turcotte. Mike Smith, Julien Leparoux, Javier Castellano, Garrett Gomez, Ramon Dominguez, Rafael Bejarano, and Joel Rosario are also expected at the Night of... Party.

Proceeds from a silent auction will raise money for PDJF. Party-goers can bid on items like a Toby Keith signed guitar, and an autographed Red Solo Cup. There will also be many one-of-a-kind Derby memorabilia, including a jockey boot signed by the 138th Kentucky Derby jockeys. Last year, the Night of... Party raised $60,000 for PDJF. This year, the goal is $100,000. PDJF provides financial assistance to nearly 60 former jockeys who have suffered catastrophic on-track injuries.
